The size of the iPhone 16 Pro will be bigger than the iPhone 15 Pro, here are the leaked specifications

Apple will bring significant changes to the screen size of its smartphones. This change was made with the launch of the iPhone 16 line in 2024. The iPhone 16 Pro model is said to have a larger screen compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 15 Pro.

Quoting MacRumors, Monday (1/1/2024), various sources said that Apple will release the iPhone 16 Pro which has a 6.27 inch screen. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a 6.85 inch screen.

With the increase in screen size, the body dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will also be slightly larger, offering more internal space for device components.

The larger form factor opens up opportunities for battery upgrades. That way, the iPhone 16 Pro has increased device battery life.

In addition, Apple is considering using microlens technology on the iPhone 16's OLED screen to maintain or increase brightness, while reducing power consumption.

Microlens technology, or MLA, uses a uniform pattern of billions of lenses within the panel to reduce internal reflections, visually increasing brightness without sacrificing power efficiency.

On the other hand, the iPhone 16 screen is predicted to adopt a new OLED material developed by Samsung specifically for Apple, providing a more power efficient display.

With this combination of advanced technology, the iPhone 16 is expected to provide a better visual experience while maintaining battery life.

However, for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models, no size changes are expected, and they will remain the same dimensions as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

However, estimates for the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus in 2025 suggest a possible increase in screen size to 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches, with a taller aspect ratio of up to 19.6:9.

Meanwhile, leaks about the iPhone 16 have started circulating on various online media. And recently, the latest leak stated that all iPhone 16 models will use the iOS 18 operating system and be accompanied by the A18 chip.

The upcoming iPhone 16 models include the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Quoting Gadgets 360, Friday (22/12/2023), Apple will package a new SoC – t8140 – Tahiti in the entire ‌iPhone 16‌ range. This codename is said to be related to the A18 chip.

Apple is also expected to differentiate the chips used in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models, by using the A18 and A18 Pro branding.

For your information, Apple's iPhone 15 series and iPhone 14 series also use different chipsets for the non-Pro and Pro models. The company is using older generation SoCs in lower-priced iPhone units in 2023 and 2022. ‌

The ‌iPhone 15‌ runs on the older A16 Bionic chip than the iPhone 14 Pro, while the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ model is powered by the new A17 Pro chip with additional GPU cores and increased clock speeds.

In addition to the A18 chip, the iOS 18 operating system on the iPhone 16 will reportedly have references to Broadcom Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules.

Apart from this information, it was previously reported that the iPhone 16 series would come with a special button for taking videos. This mysterious button is expected to be called the "Capture" button.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will also feature a new Action Button, which is currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro models. As for the 16 Pro variant, it is rumored to have a larger screen than the iPhone 15 Pro model.
