English League Results: Phil Foden Scores Brace, Man City Comeback against MU!

Manchester City achieved a convincing victory when they hosted Manchester United, Sunday (3/3/2024) evening WIB. The Manchester derby match at the Etihad Stadium ended 3-1 for the home team.

Manchester United was able to take the lead quickly when the first half had only been running for eight minutes. Marcus Rashford fired a hard shot from outside the penalty box which hit the top right corner of the Manchester City goal guarded by Ederson Moraes.


Phil Foden had a good chance in the 15th minute. However, the young English player's shot was saved by MU goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Andre Onana made another great save in the 34th minute. This time the goalkeeper from Cameroon blocked Rodri's shot attempt.

Manchester City had several opportunities in the remainder of the first half. However, they did not score any more goals against Andre Onana until the break came.

Foden's Brace and Haaland's One Goal


Manchester City's equalizer came in the 56th minute. The goal was also scored beautifully with a kick from outside Phil Foden's penalty box.

Manchester City continued to dominate the game. In fact, they were able to force Manchester United to defend by piling all the players in the defensive area.


Manchester City were finally able to turn things around in the 80th minute. Phil Foden scored his second goal in this match after working well with Julian Alvarez.

Erling Haaland, who had failed to take advantage of opportunities several times, finally scored a goal in the second minute of second half injury time. The striker from Norway took good advantage of Sofyan Amrabat's mistake.

Manchester City remains in second place in the 2023/2024 Premier League standings after this victory. Pep Guardiola's team is only one point behind the leaders of the standings, Liverpool.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Manchester United is stuck in sixth position. The Red Devils have currently collected 44 points from 27 matches.
