Liverpool came from behind to beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 in the 2023/2024 Premier League at Anfield, Sunday (31/3/2024).

Danny Welbeck surprised the hosts with a goal in the 2nd minute. However, Liverpool did not panic because the match still had a lot of time left.

Evidently, Luis Diaz equalized in the 27th minute. Jurgen Klopp's troops then ensured victory through Mohamed Salah in the 65th minute.

This result temporarily lifted Liverpool to the top of the Premier League standings. Salah and his friends have 67 points, two points ahead of Arsenal.

However, the situation could change because Arsenal will only face defending champions Manchester City after the Liverpool vs Brighton duel is finished.

Brighton immediately gave the home fans a surprise after scoring a quick goal in the 2nd minute. Starting from the chaos in the penalty box, Welbeck grabbed the ball with a hard kick, which broke into the Liverpool goal controlled by Caoimhin Kelleher. The visiting team leads 1-0.

Liverpool responded to the goal by creating several opportunities, including through Mohamed Salah to Alexis Mac Allister.

The Reds managed to score an equalizer in the 27th minute, Luis Diaz got his name on the scoreboard. Through a corner kick, the winger from Colombia was able to put the ball into Brighton's goal. The score became 1-1.

After the goal, both teams launched attacks on each other. However, no additional goals were scored. The 1-1 score lasted until the first half ended.

Second Half Liverpool vs Brighton

Liverpool appeared dominant and continued to launch attack after attack since the second half began.

The home team was finally able to take the lead in the 65th minute. Salah received a breakthrough pass from Mac Allister. The Egyptian striker then directed the ball into the bottom left corner of Brighton's goal to change the score to 2-1.

In the 71st minute, Luis Diaz broke into Brighton's goal again after receiving the ball from Salah. Unfortunately the goal was disallowed because Diaz was in an offside position when the goal occurred.

During injury time, several opportunities were also presented by both teams. However, no additional goals were scored and the score remained at 2-1 until the match ended.
