Manchester City successfully secured victory in Week 33 of the 2023/2024 Premier League. Facing Luton Town, The Cityzens were able to win with a score of 5-1.

City's winning goal was scored by Daiki Hashioka's own goal and goals from Mateo Kovacic, penalties from Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol. Meanwhile Luton reduced the position thanks to Ross Barkley's goal.

Thanks to these additional three points, Manchester City rose to first place in the 2023/2024 EPL standings with 73 points. Meanwhile, Luton Town had to stay in 18th place with 25 points.

First round

Playing in front of their own fans, Manchester City immediately stepped on the gas from the start of the match. As a result, after only two minutes of the match, City were already ahead over the visitors.

Taking advantage of Matheus Nunes' mistake, Ross Barkley successfully grabbed the ball, pushed into the City penalty box and fired a shot which Ederson failed to block. The score changed to 3-1.

City didn't seem to accept their goal being broken into by the guest. As a result, six minutes later, City widened the position to 4-1. Jeremy Doku made a move on the left side, penetrated the City penalty box then fired a placing shot into the bottom left corner of Luton's goal and scored a goal.

In injury time, City perfected their victory to 5-1. Josko Gvardiol successfully got his name on the scoreboard after his shot in the Luton Town penalty box failed to be blocked by Keminski. The score 5-1 closed this duel at the Etihad.
