Barcelona and Real Madrid Get Bad News from Erling Haaland

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is reportedly interested in extending his contract with the club. This news is a big blow for Real Madrid or Barcelona who are reportedly interested in signing him.

The Norwegian international joined from Borussia Dortmund in July 2022 for 51 million pounds. Since then he has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in football.

Last weekend, Haaland recorded his 100th appearance for Man City against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He also scored his 91st goal to help the team win 2-0 in the first match of the new Premier League season.

Haaland then added to his collection by scoring a hat-trick against Ipswich Town, Saturday (24/8/2024) night WIB.

In his debut season for the Citizens, the 23-year-old player was able to score 52 goals in 53 matches. His contribution led the club to become treble winners.

Although he still has three years left on his contract, Man City also intends to increase his work period in order to quell the interest of interested parties.

Erling Haaland Wanted by LaLiga Giants

Everyone knows that Haaland is a player who is very much liked by Real Madrid. The Spanish giants want to pair him with Kylian Mbappe.

On the other hand, in his efforts to strengthen his campaign to be re-elected as club president, Joan Laporta is reported to have promised to recruit Haaland in order to get votes.

Manchester City Will Secure Assets

Halaland is not the only asset that Manchester City will secure. The club is also ready to propose a new work contract for Kevin De Bruyne.

The 33-year-old's contract expires in the summer of 2025. Previously he was linked with a Saudi Arabian club. However, the rumors have now died down.
