Reasons Juventus Canceled Player Shopping at Manchester United

Juventus has dropped its intention to recruit one of Manchester United's players, winger Jadon Sancho. The Bianconeri were once highly-rated to get the young Englishman at the end of the 2024 summer transfer window.

Jadon Sancho has actually been forgiven by MU manager Erik ten Hag. Sancho was once again fielded to defend MU in the pre-season event held in the United States. However, when the 2024/2025 season officially started, Sancho was sidelined.

The former Borussia Dortmund player has not been played by Ten Hag in the first two Premier League matches. Sancho lost out to Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo Traore.

The 24-year-old player will also be released by MU at the end of the summer transfer window. Sancho was reported to have agreed to move to Juventus. The Bianconeri are also interested in Sancho being used as a replacement for Federico Chiesa who was kicked out to Liverpool.

However, on August 29, 2024, news emerged in various Italian media such as Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Calciomercato.com that Juventus had given up and forgotten about recruiting Sancho in the summer of 2024.

Juventus initially wanted to recruit Sancho on loan. However, they failed to reach an agreement with MU. The Red Devils' request was too expensive for Juve.

Salary was the problem that caused Sancho's transfer to fail. Juve only wanted to cover half of Sancho's salary, which reached 10 million euros per season. In addition, Juve also wanted a loan without the obligation to buy next year.

In addition to the expensive costs, Juve also changed their mind because they felt that the stock of wingers in their team was too much. Juve has only brought in two new wingers, namely Nico Gonzalez and Francisco Conceicao.

Then there is one talented young player who appeared surprising at the beginning of the season, namely Samuel Mbangula. Trusted to be a starter twice by coach Thiago Motta at the beginning of the 2024/2024 season, Mbangula has produced one goal and two assists.

Sancho's situation became more complex when Juve managed to land Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta. The young Dutchman is indeed positioned as an attacking midfielder. But with the entry of Koopmeiners, Kenan Yildiz will operate mostly on the wing.

Juve had thought about shifting Yildiz to an attacking midfielder if Koopmeiners failed to be acquired. If Yildiz plays in attacking midfielder, Sancho will thicken Juventus' wing position.
