Manchester United managed to defeat the host Southampton in the fourth week of the 2024/2025 Premier League, Saturday (14/9/2024) evening WIB. Competing at St Mary's Stadium, the Red Devils won with a score of 3-0.

Manchester United were able to lead by two goals in the first half through Matthijs De Ligt and Marcus Rashford. The Red Devils then added another goal in the second half through Alejandro Garnacho.

Thanks to this victory, Manchester United are in seventh place in the Premier League standings with six points. Southampton slumped to 19th place with zero points.

Southampton as the host had a chance in the 7th minute. However, Tyler Dibling's shot was still thwarted by Andre Onana.

Entering the 15th minute, Manchester United got a chance. Unfortunately, Joshua Zirkzee and Noussair Mazraoui's efforts had not resulted in goals.

Southampton got a penalty in the 30th minute after Diogo Dalot brought down Tyler Dibling in the penalty box. However, Andre Onana managed to block Cameron Archer's shot from the penalty spot.

Four minutes later, Matthijs De Ligt managed to break the deadlock. He made the score change to 0-1 with a header utilizing a pass from Bruno Fernandes.

In the 41st minute, Manchester United managed to move away through a kick from Marcus Rashford. The score of 2-0 remained until halftime.

Entering the second half, both teams were still trying to score goals. However, not many dangerous opportunities were created.

Southampton had to play with 10 players in the 70th minute. Jack Stephens received a red card after making a hard tackle on Alejandro Garnacho.

Superior in number of players, Manchester United was only able to add a goal in injury time. Alejandro Garnacho scored after grabbing a pull pass from Diogo Dalot.

The final score of 3-0 was the match. Manchester United managed to take home three points from Southampton's headquarters.
